I did it!

I just sent in my first ever dt submission for the design team call at Birds of a Feather. I'm so excited that my heart was racing as I hit the send button. LOL! Amy will have her hands full trying to choose 3 from all the entries. I wouldn't want to be in her shoes. Wish me luck!

Bringing it back

I bet you are all surprised to see a new post from me. LOL! I have decided to breathe some life back into the blog. Why am I doing this? I have made the decision to apply for my first ever design team at Birds of a Feather. Submissions are due by July 10th. If you get a chance hop on over to the site and check it out. Amy assembles the best kits and you get a lot for your money.

See what I mean?

I'm already 5 days behind at keeping up with the blog. LOL! My life is pretty uneventful. How can you blog about that on a daily basis? I'm excited because I have scrappy mail coming today. My January KNK kit should be at my door as well as my Project Life kit. I have my pics and journaling ready for the first 5 days so it should be fairly easy getting it started. Having never done this before I have a question for those that did 365 last year. When doing your journaling are your journaling about everything through the course of each day or just explaining the photo you took for that particular day?

Steve and I are planning on taking a drive to OC (Ocean City) tonight to get our favorite pizza for dinner. It's an hour drive to get there so believe me when I say it is good pizza!

Welcome 2010!

The start of a new decade. I wonder what will be in store for us. Hoping that everyone that is out of work will find a job and that everyone who has a job in jeopardy will be able to keep it.

So- are you a resolution maker? Did you make a resolution for this year? If so please share. In the past I have said stuff like I'm going to lose weight and I'm going to be more organized (I did a little better with this one last year). I rarely make it to the end of the year though. Okay- who am I kidding? I rarely make it the first 2 weeks. LOL! I didn't really choose to make a resolution this year but I think I would like to be better at keeping up with this blog. In doing so it will help me with a project I am taking on. Have you heard of Becky Higgins' Project Life? It's along the same premise of Project 365 from last year. Here is a link:

http://www.beckyhiggins.com/projectlife/.

I will be taking a photo a day to document the year ahead and journaling about it, so at the end of 2010, I will have a whole year in review in one album. My first photo of the year was my clock at midnight.

I hope your year gets off to a good start.

Happy Thanksgiving!

I have much to be thankful for on this day of giving thanks. My family (which includes my daughter-in-law would do anything for me), a home to live in, food on our table. I am thankful that Steve has a job to go to on a daily basis. I'm grateful that my health is good. I'm thankful for my friends who I have met through the hobby of scrapbooking. They are the best women.

Enjoy your day and don't eat too much turkey. After all, you must save room for dessert:)

Hi Jen!

That is for my sister who doesn't think I will update my blog today. LOL. Yes, it has been a while again but I have been scrapping so that is a good thing. I have so many supplies so I am trying to put a dent in them. I think it's working. I may have to break this up into a few posts in order to share what I've done lately. Okay- it seems as though blogger won't let me upload pics for some reason. I will try again when I get back home. Check in later tonight Jen:)

Are you ready for Halloween?

When I was growing up we would head out for trick-or-treating with our pillowcases. When we filled it up we would run home and get another pillow case and head back out. We lived in a large neighborhood so we would hit every house on every street. What fun! After I got married and had children, for some reason, Halloween didn't seem fun anymore. There was always the pressure to come up with fun costumes for the kids. It became a task. As the kids grew up and decided to not dress up anymore I was one happy momma! Now the pressure was off and I could enjoy the holiday:) I decorate more now than I did in the past. Steve enjoys it as well. In addition to candy Steve grills hot dogs. Each child, if they want it, gets a hot dog and a cup of warm apple cider. Our house is the big hit on the block. Do you give out anything special to your trick-or-treaters? If so please share.

Speaking of decorations, I just finished my Halloween tree yesterday that you see in the picture. And the little ghostie candles I made last year. Very simple- glass jars painted with white acrylic paint on the outside and a black sharpie pen to make the faces. Can't get any easier than that!

I have been doing quite a bit of scrapping lately so tomorrow's post will be some layouts and projects.
